Genesee
County brings two great races back to back for a weekend of bicycle, hand
cycle, and kid racing at its finest. On Saturday, July 23, the Fenton
community welcomes the Maillot Jaune, a 13-mile road race. On Sunday, July
24, the Flint community embraces its second annual criterium, Le Champion
Pavé.
Maillot
Jaune is French for Yellow Jersey, which is the Pinnacle the world’s best
riders reach for. The Maillot Jaune Road Race in Fenton, MI is one of the
best courses in the State nominated in previous years for inclusion on the
National Road Racing Calendar.
After
the race, visit the park by City Hall where the Shiawassee River flows over
a dam through the park, take a rest in its gazebo, or take a stroll on the
walkway by the river. Then again, after your morning race workout, you might
want to take a dip in one of 58 lakes within a 10-mile radius of Fenton.
Don’t
forget to get a good night’s sleep at our host hotel, AmericInn, and we’ll
see you tomorrow morning in Flint for the Le Champion Pavé Criterium.
Maillot
Jaune T-Shirts are $10 each. |
